The Classroom

I used to act.
A lot.

MANY productions of CATS, Hairspray, A Chorus Line, 42nd Street, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Crazy for You, The Will Rogers Follies, and many more.

Fact: I do not miss it. Not one bit.

However, every now and then the chance rears its head in a way that I cannot turn down. I am BEYOND thrilled to announce that one of my roommates from college, as well as one of my best friends, has written a new play that is having it’s PREMIERE at the esteemed Fringe Festival this August in NYC.

Produced as a joint production of The Rebel Collective Theatre and Slant Theatre Co, The Classroom (by Craig Clary)  is about a group of temp workers who are shoved into one room, working for a multi-billion dollar law firm, and the hijinks that ensue. This play is “loosely” based on when Craig (the playwright) and I were temping together when we first moved to NYC years ago.

And by “loosely” I mean it brings back painful memories….

There will be adult language.
There will be snark.
There will be sudoku.

Why am I posting this? Simple:

We have to produce this show ourselves! Yep, we have to raise every cent. So I turn to you, my readers and friends. We have started a Kickstarter account to help facilitate this enormous undertaking. No donation is TOO small and there is certainly not one TOO large 😉 However, there are some incentives:

For a donation of $50 you will receive a “Special Thanks” in the program.
For a donation of $100 or more you will be able to place your own LOGO in the program! And if you live in the NYC area (or feel like traveling) you’ll receive 2 tickets to the performance of your choice!

MAGIC! BROADWAY (well, off-off broadway)! COMEDY!

PLEASE feel free to email me if you have any questions. I SINCERELY thank all of you for reading this, even though it’s not really baby-related. And I thank you deeply for ANY contributions you might make….

I’d also greatly appreciate it if you “LIKE” the page on Facebook….many thanks!!!!

Now, onto my next crazy giveaway!!!!
