The Scoop on Poop
Poop. It’s messy. It smells awful. It’s one of the most dreaded parts of having a baby to most parents. I am thrilled to offer the Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail by Munchkin, Inc, as the next prize in #BabyGuyMotherLode.
I remember back in 1995 when my sister, Olivia, was born (I was in high school, thank you). We were all grossed out by diapers. My parents decided to buy a “magical” diaper pail to try to contain the smell of diapers. Emptying this horrid thing was a dreaded occurrence: open, twist, tear tie—it sucked. Every couple days I would have to change this thing—I lovingly referred to it as “poop sausage” because that’s what it reminded me of: a big sausage link full of diapers. And lord help you if the plastic tore open.
Because of this experience, I have always been hesitant when recommending diaper pails like this to my clients. Most of them live in NYC and have trash chutes in the hall, so it’s not always necessary. When my sister had the twins, Munchkin sent the Arm&Hammer Diaper Pail to them to try out. The heavens opened, trumpets blasted, and the nursery was saved. This pail has a lovely little baking soda capsule which REALLY helps eliminate odor. The bags slide in and snap into place, eliminating the need for tying. The door on the front also make access to the bag of used diapers extremely convenient.
–Ease of use
–NO TYING OR CUTTING!!
See? I didn’t need a genie to grant my three wishes!!! Until a diaper pail comes out that makes the diapers evaporate, this will continue to be the only one I recommend should people need it.
